Yesterday’s Struggles and Triumphs!

First, I want to take a moment and apologize for not posting yesterday. My brother and his family flew down from Oregon and our family met him at Disneyland. During the visit I had an espresso coffee for the first time in a long time. That coffee made me really sick and then it was paired with a migraine. Once we were home, I went straight to bed. To make up for the missed post, I will be posting twice today.

Ok, so now onto the scheduled programming ๐Ÿ™‚

Yesterday was an amazing day with my brother. He just had his first baby, a son, with his wife. This was the first time that I had gotten to meet Carson, their son. It was amazing to watch my brother be a first time parent at Disneyland and what made this moment even more special was the fact that this was his wife’s first visit to Disneyland. Just looking at them, you can tell how much they love and care for this baby. It reminds me of how my husband and I started raising our kids and how our style and techniques have changed with each one. My brother told me that he was amazed on how my husband and I were able to move through Disneyland with such ease, while taking care of three children.

The experience of Disneyland is different from when you go as a young adult to when you have kids. Your interests, the rides you go on, and the foods you eat all change. Before I had kids, I would make sure to hit all the roller coasters and thrill rides. We couldn’t leave Disneyland without making it on almost all the rides. In addition, you were staying until the park closed, making sure to get a good seat for the fireworks.

Now, I go to Disneyland and watch all the children having fun. Many kids are dressed in cute outfits and are so excited to see Mickey Mouse and other characters throughout the park. I look at all the families who make matching shirts because you know that this is their big trip. You notice the small things, like how the Disneyland staff go out of their way to make sure you have a magical trip.

I plan to write more about Disneyland, but I was so excited about yesterday’s trip. In a week’s time, my husband and I will be back to have another experience with my mom. What is your favorite part of Disneyland?

Until next time….
